How do you access BLISS?
It's Day 4 of our 5-Day Flow Experiment!
I’m writing this, snuggled up in a blanket with our dog Bliss.
She and I just came inside after watching the full moon setting in the cool early morning air.
In addition to doodling and writing for this 5-Day Flow Experiment, I've also been making more time for nature and movement.
I’ve been inspired by Samantha Ford, whose Flow Habit for this series is taking photos in nature.
When I think of the word “bliss,” I often think of ecstasy, that full-body kind of happiness, like how our dog Bliss wiggles and wags everything, including her tail, when she greets those she loves.
But the feeling of “bliss” can also take a quieter, more inward form of wiggling and wagging.
I’m talking about the kind of bliss we feel when we are fully present as we do what we do, when we are “all in.”
I’ve been feeling more of that inner bliss these last few days, as I’ve been breathing in the smell of freshly blooming spring flowers, watching California poppies bloom as if out of nowhere, following flow.
There is a simple happiness that comes from doing flow activities that is unencumbered by the noise of the world.
Research shows that while during flow we are less self-conscious—after flow, we have a stronger sense of self, a calm confidence, a deeper sense of knowing who we are that is palpable.
After flow, we have a feel-good glow, likely a result of lowered cortisol, an onslaught of feel-good hormones and neurotransmitters including dopamine and anandamide (the bliss molecule!)—and self meeting Self, meeting ourselves without disguise.
If that’s not reason to keep doing our Flow Habits and training the brain for more flow, I don’t know what is!
Flow Question
What helps you to feel more bliss?
Flow Tip
Today, as you are doing your 5-10-minute Flow Habit, pay attention to how you are feeling. Experiment with making micro-changes to how you do what you do so that you can feel more bliss and find more flow!
You Are Already a Flow Expert
Remember, you are already a Flow Expert. As you do your Flow Habit today, and as you go throughout the motions of your life, remember to tune inward, let go, and listen for where your True Self is guiding you to go (and flow!).

My bliss is getting into nature, too. Also, culture—I do love a good museum. And the best is a day with both!!
I can’t tell you how finding flow these past weeks has changed my life in ways that I never knew that I needed. So grateful to be on this path
Laurie. Your work is so important and NEEDED! I will continue to shout it from the mountain tops!!
